The Careers Resource Base is open to students on Monday and Thursday lunchtimes as well as before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mr Mroczko is available to help students with anything careers related. The room has a good source of information, ranging from literature in the form of careers magazines to DVDs and with access to computer software. There is seating for students so that they can browse through information at their leisure. There are three computers for student use. There is also a notice board for any relevant Careers Information that students are encouraged to look at regularly, for example, College Open dates are also displayed here. There is also college and university information, prospectuses and applications in the Careers Resource Base. Mr Mroczko also advertises current apprenticeships and local job vacancies which are increasingly popular for Year 11 students.

Careers Education begins in Year 7 and is continued throughout the years which follow, to ensure that each child is fully aware of the opportunities open to them and the ways in which to progress to achieve their chosen career path. It is our aim to help and guide every child in the direction of their choice and assist them in getting there; whether it is researching career opportunities, applying for a job vacancy, a full time college course or apprenticeship.

Connexions is a support service for young people aged 13- 19 (up to 25 years old for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities). The service is designed to meet the needs of individual young people, helping them to reach their full potential and make a successful transition into adult life.

Through Personal Advisers, Connexions offers free, independent, impartial, information, advice and guidance and practical help on a range of issues including education, employment, work-based learning, housing, health, transport, free time and money matters.
